Texas Fire Incident Reporting System (TEXFIRS)

Fire Department Reporting Status

Incidents successfully received and processed for each fire department. (Note: Please allow two to four weeks for processing of submitted files.)

TEXFIRS uses the NFIRS 5.0 system to manage incident reporting. Incident data submitted to TEXFIRS is forwarded to the national NFIRS. The NFIRS 5.0 system provides fire departments an opportunity to report all types of calls and thus better document all department activity, useful when:

  • Prioritizing training.
  • Identifying resource needs.
  • Tracking incident trends and fire prevention program progress.
  • Planning station relocations, expansions, and additions.
  • Justifying financial requests.

To submit incident reports, a fire department has the option of reporting on approved 5.0 software or paper forms. Incident reporting in Texas is not mandatory.
