General Core Curriculum

All Criminal Justice majors must complete a program of general education core curriculum courses, which serves as the common foundation for all majors and accounts for about 35 percent of the approximately 120 semester credit hours required for a bachelor s degree. Communication (9 hrs)
English 1310, 1320, and COMM 1310

Mathematics (3 hrs)
Mathematics 1315, 1316 or 1319

Life and Physical Sciences (6 hrs)
Choose two from the following: ANTH 2414; BIO 1320, 1421, 1330 1130, or 1331 1131; CHEM 1310, 1430, 1341 1114, 1342 1142; GEO 1305 1105; GEOL 1410, 1420; PHYS 1310, 1320, 1110, 1340, 1350, 1140, 1315 1115, 1325 1125.

Language, Philosophy and Culture (3 hrs)
P HIL 1305 or 1320

Creative Arts (3 hrs)
ART 2313, DAN 2313, MUS 2313, or TH 2313

American History (6 hrs)
HIST 1310 and HIST 1320

Government/Political Science (6 hrs)
POSI 2310 and POSI 2320

Social Behavioral Science (6 hrs)
PSY 1300 and SOCI 1310

Texas State- Language, Philosophy Culture (3 hrs)
ENG 2310, 2320, 2330, 2340, 2359, or 2360
