YPE Houston Leadership
Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) is a non-profit organization with more than 10,000 members in its Houston Chapter. By providing a forum for networking and career development through social, educational and civic service opportunities, YPE aims to facilitate the advancement of young professionals in the global energy industry.
Stephen Morgan is the Senior Vice President of TransTex Treating, managing all aspects of the business unit including sales and commercial development, strategic planning, engineering, and field operations. Previously, he directed the business development team, leading to its acquisition by Eureka Midstream.
Stephen is affiliated with many social and civic organizations. He serves as President of Young Professionals in Energy (YPE), a non-profit organization which aims to facilitate the advancement of young professionals in the global energy. He also serves on the Board of Directors for The Houston Club. Other civic involvements include Chairing annual events benefitting St. Jude Children s Research Hospital, The Center, and Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS). He also stays involved in the Houston region as a Big Brother for BBBS, and graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum. For his service to community and industry, Stephen has been honored by receiving the Future Industry Leader Award at the Gulf Coast Oil and Gas Awards, named as one of Houston’s Top 30 Under 30 by Young Texans Against Cancer, and received Honorable Mention by the Houston Business Journal as one of Houston’s Top 40 Under 40.
Stephen is a graduate of Sam Houston State University where continues to be active as a Life Member of the Alumni Association and Alumni Chapter Advisor to the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.

William is a commercial insurance professional in Aon’s business development group in Houston. In this capacity, he provides risk advisory services along with facilitating and structuring risk financing solutions within the insurance marketplace on behalf of his clients. His client base includes companies primarily in the energy/construction space.
Prior to beginning his career at Aon, William attended the University of Alabama where he earned a B.S. in Finance. While at the University of Alabama, William was on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Insurance Society within the Culverhouse College of Commerce Business School.
William joined the YPE leadership team in 2015, serving as the Events Sponsorship chair, a role in which he oversees and coordinates all social activities and bookings within YPE, including Happy Hour networking events.

Janet is currently the Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis at W T Offshore. Previously, Janet worked as a Senior Research Analyst for BlackGold Capital Management, a long/short energy hedge fund. She has also worked as an Energy Investment Banking Analyst for Raymond James Associates and as a Real Time Power Trader for Allegheny Energy.
Janet earned a B.A. in Economics from Rice University and an M.B.A. in Finance, Entrepreneurship and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Janet is a native Houstonian, and she joined the YPE leadership team in 2010.

Ashley Sloan is an Executive Director for JPMorgan Chase, the state’s largest financial institution. She serves clients in commercial banking with dynamic middle-market businesses across all industries. Ashley’s primary focus is delivering a suite of financial services to companies with revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $500 million. Her diverse background includes managing transactions involving leveraged acquisition financing, asset-based lending, comprehensive treasury services, foreign currency and interest rate hedging, corporate finance, asset management, and underwriting. Ashley also focuses on Oilfield Services companies and Foreign Multinational business in Houston. Prior to joining Chase, she worked for nine years at regional banks with a prominence in oilfield services and manufacturing companies.
Ashley received her BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Chi Omega. She earned the FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses. Ashley’s other involvements include, The Junior League of Houston, Inc., Daughters of the American Revolution, and Bellaire Young Mothers Club. She joined the YPE leadership team in 2011.
